Valve Regulated Batteries - Important Notes Please Read Carefully

  1. Do not open battery. Never attempt to "top up" with water

  2. Batteries contain toxic material (lead electrodes) and corrosive acids. Do not puncture case. Seek medical advice if taken or materials contact sensitive skin area or eyes

  3. All lead acid batteries can produce explosive gases during use. Gas explosion can cause blindness or injury - Shield eyes. Do not allow battery to make contact with a source of ignition or naked flame.

  4. Exposed metal parts are always "live". Never wear rings or jewellery when working near or handling batteries. Never short the battery terminals by making contact between positive and negative terminals. Never allow battery terminals to touch metal surface. Short circuits could result in explosion or fire.

  5. Batteries should not be stored in a discharged state (flat). Always recharge your battery immediately after use. Failure to do so voids your warranty.

  6. Batteries should only be recharged with equipment that meets the manufacturer's specifications. If in doubt, please check with your supplier. Manufacturer's specifications are available on request. An approved charger can be left charging your battery until its next use. This will prolong your battery's life. Failure to do so voids your warranty.

  7. Do not charge batteries upside down. Always charge batteries in the upright position. Some models are designed to be installed horizontally. Please check with your supplier. Failure to do so voids your warranty

  8. Always charge batteries in a well ventilated location. For commercial applications please refer to Australian Standards. Always check polarity of charger before connection to the battery. Incorrect connection will result in damage to your battery and charger. Failure to do so voids your warranty

  9. Please dispose of your battery through a battery recycler or return it to place of purchase for safe disposal

  10. Lead acid batteries are heavy. Always check weight before attempting to lift them

  11. Always securely install the battery in mobile applications and in transit

  12. Never allow children to handle batteries

Not withstanding the above, Valve Regulated Batteries must be installed, maintained and serviced in accordance with manufacturers technical data and relevant Australian Standards. Failure to comply with these instructions will void your warranty.
